Beach Bash ’21 Rules

  • COVID-Return to Play Highlights
    • NAGVA will be strictly enforcing their Return To Play requirements. Please have players review NAGVA's return to play guidelines here: Return to Play Guidelines as of 07/21/2021
    • All players not fully vaccinated must wear a face mask at all times. Please adhere to this and help slow the spread.
    • All players must wash/sanitize hands before and after sets.
    • Working teams must sanitize the table, chairs, volleyball, pens after each match. Sanitize the volleyball after each set.
    • Do not share whistles. We have whistles at the command center.
    • Practice social distancing while in the facility.
    • Please monitor your health and report symptoms to the tournament director (tournaments@charmcityvolleyball.com) or a NAGVA official (tournaments@nagva.org).

 

  • Pool Play
    • 4 Matches. 2 Sets each.
    • Do not greet/congratulate at net, or switch sides between sets.
    • Timed games @ 45minutes including 5 minute warmup.
    • Start at 4. Win by 2. Cap at 27 first set, no cap 2nd set.
    • No ties. Play to next point.
    • No timeouts after 2 minute warming. Subs still allowed.
    • Protests happen at end of match, not during. Must be noted on scoresheet at time of protest, decided by protest committee after match. Judgement calls are non-protestable.
    • Working teams will be penalized 5 points, plus 1 point per minute, if any position is late for working matches (R1, R1, Scorekeeper, 2x line judges). R1 and R2 both must have a whistle and will incur a penalty until they have one.

 

  • Double Elimination Play
    • Do not greet/congratulate at net, or switch sides between sets.
    • No match time limit.
    • Winners:
      • Best of 3.
      • Set 1 and 2 start at 4. Win by 2. Cap at 27.
      • If 3rd deciding set is required - 0-15 No cap. Win by 2.
    • Challengers
      • 1 Set
      • 0-25. No cap.
    • Protest immediately. Must be noted on scoresheet at time of protest, decided by protest committee during the match. Judgement calls are non-protestable.

 

  • Boundaries/Obstacles
    • Do not cross onto adjacent sport court. If ball is recovered but player continues onto adjacent sport court, the point will be awarded to opposing team.
